On behalf of The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE), I wish to extend my heartfelt
congratulations to the Quality Building Award (QBA) as it embarks on the remarkable journey of
its 22nd edition. The QBA has long been recognised as the pinnacle of achievement within Hong
Kong’s construction and real estate sector, symbolising the industry’s invaluable contributions
to our community and its relentless pursuit of urban advancement.

QBA 2024’s inspiring theme “Empowering Innovation | Sustaining Green | Generating Wellness”
is a powerful catalyst urging stakeholders to embrace innovative and environmentally conscious
solutions for the betterment of society. QBA’s vision to extend its impact beyond Hong Kong and
into the Greater Bay Area (GBA) by introducing the new “Building in GBA” award category is
particularly notable. This addition fosters greater recognition of regional excellence and
cultivates stronger bonds between Hong Kong and the wider area. By celebrating remarkable
projects from the GBA, QBA forges a network for knowledge dissemination, exchange of best
practices, and the promotion of collective prosperity.

The HKIE enthusiastically supports the QBA’s campaign to identify and honour the exceptional
accomplishments of our industry’s leading experts, who consistently challenge limits, innovate,
and establish new benchmarks.

Once again, I extend my deepest appreciation to all participants and supporting organisations of
the QBA. May QBA 2024 be a resounding success, energising our shared commitment to
industry-wide progress.
