Marking its 12th edition this year, the Quality Building Awards have always been a testament
to the highest standards of excellence in our industry. It is a great honor to serve on the jury
panel alongside distinguished professionals and experts, each bringing their unique
expertise and passion to the evaluation process.

This year, we are delighted to have received over 50 submissions of high quality, reflecting
the industry’s commitment and pursuit of excellence. Our new award category, “Buildings
in Greater Bay Area (GBA),” received enthusiastic response from the GBA region. As part of
our evaluation process, the jury panel had the opportunity to conduct site visits to several
projects in GBA, gaining valuable insights and learning firsthand about the exceptional
quality and innovative approaches employed in these buildings. These physical visits were
instrumental in deepening our understanding of the projects and reinforced our
appreciation for the dedication and craftsmanship displayed by the industry.

To further enhance the exchange of ideas and expertise, we welcomed an additional juror
from the GBA this year. The participation of our new juror contributes significantly to the
diversity of perspectives and enhances the collaborative spirit across the Jury Panel,
fostering a richer dialogue and deeper understanding of the projects submitted from the
GBA and beyond.

As one of the Jury Panel members and the QBA 2024 Organizing Committee Chair, I would
like to extend my sincere gratitude to all jurors for their dedication and expertise in selecting
the most deserving winners. The high quality of this year’s submissions has presented a
challenging yet rewarding task which demands careful evaluations and considerations upon
making decisions. With all the effort and time invested, we are committed to ensuring that
our decisions reflect the highest standards of excellence.

Lastly, I’d like to congratulate all the winners on their outstanding achievements. QBA 2024
is pleased to delve into such a wealth of talent and innovation. We look forward to witnessing
the continued growth and collaborations, and to new challenges and opportunities as we
continue to push the boundaries of innovation and sustainability in our industry.
