Hon TSE Wai-chuen, Tony, BBS, JP
Legislative Council Member
(Functional Constituency - Architectural, Surveying, Planning and Landscape)
It is my great pleasure to convey my warmest congratulations to the QBA members on
their celebrating of Quality Building Award 2024 Award Presentation Ceremony. I am
most pleased to join you in celebrating such jubilant occasion.
With the increasing demand for building and infrastructure developments, the need for
innovative construction technology is greater than ever. Smart construction has the
potential to transform and enhance productivity and efficiency of the construction
industry. By making better use of innovative equipment, green materials and data in
construction and site management, both capacity and quality of the project would be
enhanced. This will not only benefit the construction industry, project clients and users,
but also stimulate growth of the Hong Kong economy and help to tackle social
challenges such as housing shortage, construction safety.
Despite advanced technologies, young talent is an essential element to help our
industry to adopt smarter construction methods while promoting environmental
sustainability for infrastructure and development projects. Looking forward, I hope that
more new and young blood can join the construction field and professional, and to
contribute in shaping our city a better place for people to live and work.
I wish the Hong Kong’s construction and real estate sectors, and their members
continued success in the years to come.
